Research - Analysing an A grade - Task D

Strengths 

This is a really good chilling thriller that combines the frightening nature of a horror and the suspense of a thriller. The diegetic sounds used are put to great effect with the the creepy music and the sound effects added. One of the sound effects added is a rushing noise added as the little girl looks up into the camera. The same music that is used at the start that has the frightening effect of a little girls laugh also being played after the music stops playing really makes you as the audience feel scared. They also use another sound effect that is like a really quiet drum being played as the little girl runs through the woods.

Weaknesses
In comparison the other aspects which are brilliant the camera work is quite basic and the angles and camera movement are very similar throughout and they could have got a larger variety of angles and different types of shots. The first establishing shot where the little girl is running through the woods could have other angles that sort of branch off and then come back to the wide establishing shot. There are a few pans with small camera movement however more advanced tracking shots could have been used to follow the little girl as she runs through the woods.
