Strengths
The thriller does uphold many thriller conventions which is vital to a good thriller and one that this thriller uses very well in particular is the dark lighting and dark colours. There also is a very gloomy feel to the start of the sequence from the shot at night with the rain. The sound effect that the rain creates is also put to good effect so that the audience can really set the scene.

Weaknesses
Although the darkness is a vital part of a thriller, the backlight isn't used effectively if at all and a lot of the shots inside aren't well lit enough and it makes it difficult to see what is going on. They also could use a lot more non-diegetic sounds such as background music or even some sound effects at the start of the thriller to make it feel more like a thriller. They could use some suspense rising music to play over the screenplay that plays in the background to help it feel more like a thriller.
